Eggs - are they more bland these days?
7 Answers
I remember really enjoying eggs as a kid - runny ones especially. But they don't seem to taste of much these days - does anyone else think this too? I've tried to find nice tasting one - I always buy free range - but none have stood out especially. Any recommendations? Dying to really enjoyed poached eggs again...

Eggs today have a rich deep golden yolk to make them look more appetising but that is just an additive to hen food which turns the yolks to that colour.
REAL eggs have a yolk that is VERY pale in colour and if you can find these you will regain the taste that you remember.
I'm lucky I live near a real farm otherwise I would stop eating eggs altogether, the ones in supermarkets, free range or not arn't worth a penny each.
