Great British Menu last night....

Doesn't it really annoy you - well it does me anyway - when the judges state that as the menu is going to eaten on a Summer's day that it shouldn't have a heavy starter and then award 2nd place to a pigeon pie !!! I ask you, who on earth would want to start a 4-course meal with a pie however well cooked it is - not me that's for certain. They certainly got it right with awarding full marks to Sat Bains' Ham, egg and peas though - looked scrumptious and just right as a starter.

I think its gross that 2 people taste the food then put the spoon back in the pot that others have got to eat.!!!

Well said Osprey!
Is it my imagination or do they usually knock a recipe and then award it favourable marks - sometimes putting the dish they appear to favour best down the line?
Also would they ever be satisfied at any top restaurant?
Would have loved to have tasted Sat Bain's starter dish of Ham, Egg & Peas though - yummy!
