Can you make smoothies using a normal blender?

Not a hand blender but a food mixer thing, you know, glass thing!

i dont see why not...... i suppose all a smoothie maker is, is a taller food processor to enable companies to make more money!!
if it's a liquidiser then yes you can, we make them all the time.
I do!
It will be harder to get the pure juice alone; a juicer will do this. By blending in a mixer you will incorporate the flesh too. No bad think but may be hard to get 'smooth' if you see my point.
I got my juicer for under �10 at Asda btw, a bargain :)
