It's that old staple of childhood thick slices of bread dipped in beaten egg then gently fried preferably in good clean bacon fat though that's not politically correct now!You can cok it with just a spray of 1cal or a tiny amount of oil too but the flavour's slightly less intense.Eat it alone or with grilled bacon/fried or poached eggs grilled tomatoes or whatever you fancy
Beat up eggs and milk(depends how much your making).Cut your bread into nice triangles, and soak in the mixture.Heat some butter and oil in a fry pan and fry till golden. I have mine with sausage, bacon and black pudding.
My partner makes fan-flippin-tastic eggy bread. Cuts thick ('toastie') bread into triangles, and soaks in a mix of beaten egg, salt, pepper, milk and a sprinkle of mixed herbs if you like.
Fry gently, and eat either alone, or with a full cooked brekkie, or melt a little cheese over it.
french toast or eggy bread, not had it for years! I used to have it sweet rather than savoury, with jam. Suppose it's a bit like pan-cakes, depends how you like to eat them/what you fancy.
