survival on adesert island.

I read this short story once,and wondered if it'd be possible a doctor is starnded on a desert island,theres no food or vegetation or animals,but he has his surgeons tools,he decides to amputate bits of his body slowly over time to eat while waiting for rescue could this be possible?

no if it was a desert island there would be at least trifle if not profiteroles and so he may put on weight but he would survibve, at least until the lipids got him in his bad cholesterol.

Plus, if it was an island there would be fishes in the sea and seaweed and stuff he could live off, plus, seabirds lay eggs on desert islands and he could have made a seafood salad which acyually would counter balance the high cholesterol desseets and so actually he ,may well survive longer that one at first anticipated. Plus, he could catch rain in the sample bowls out of his medical bag and he would not get thirsty, plus, if he has his sugical instruments he could use them to build a radio antannae and ham radio as he was actually an A team fan and has seen it all before plus, if he is indeed a doctor he would have his pager on him and whilst he practised with his golf clubs that he obviously would have too, he could send texts with his pager cos he watched mission impossible tyoo and knew about electronics aswell.

sure you would get some protein but the blood loss would kind of neutralise the benefits, if not kill you

Yes it was the stephen king short story ,thanks for refreshing my memory! Im a fan of the short story my all time favourite is "monkeys paw" by w.w jacobs well worth checking out!
