We were dotted all over the nearby 'braes' on Easter Monday, unless it was raining, hurtling after our soon-to-be picnic snack, believe me! Fathers tend to be absent from one's visual memories of such days because they were mostly dotted all over the world still dealing with baddies!
Whatever the truth of the mythical/religious significance of the activity, we knew it was all about rolling away the tombstone of Christ. Why else would we have done it on Easter Monday, for goodness' sake?
