Lovely mild Indian sauce

I absolutely love the mild yoghurty minty sauce that you get with chiken tikka massala and salad!! I went to a resaurant once and asked for Raita thinking that was what it was!! to my dismay i literaly got a pot of natural yoghurt!! Is there a name for this lovely sauce that i am talking about so i can order it as an extra with every indian meal i get???

Raita will always come with cucumber & sometimes with pomegranite.
Ask for mint yoghurt sauce, & that should be what you get. All it is is thick greek yoghurt with either fresh chopped mint or mint sauce (yes thats right) stirred into it. Add a little salt and just a small pinch of sugar, stir & it's ready.

Raita is the name for ANY yogurt supplement, and can have a whole host of ingredients. There is no one specific type.
What you are after is mint raita. To make it at home all you need to do is mix some mint sauce with the yogurt, add a pinch of salt, garlic powder, ground cumin if you have it, and black pepper. Raita is usually made thinner using water, but you don't need to water it down if you prefer.
