Boiled onion sauce??

I have a recipe photocopied from a curry book and one of the ingredients is 'boiled onion sauce'. Annoyingly it says 'see page 132' which I don't have! Does anyone know what it might be?

That will serve me right for photocopying recipes from a friend instead of just buying the book myself!
