I would imagine if you followed them strictly you would lose the weight, however that said once you stop the regime you will gain it all back, its not a long term option
Dead right! A few of my friends went on diets (Slim Fast included), to see who could lose the most weight in a month. Everyone did reasonably well, but keeping the weight off proved to be a problem. If you start eating normally again, the weight creeps back, and if you carry on with the dietary measures, you just continue to lose more.
Agree with above! It teaches you NOTHING about nutrition and how to eat. As soon as you stop the diet you go back to your old habits and regain the weight.
Its easy and convenient. It would get you the same benefits as using a very low calorie diet and in the short term your results would be very visible. Once you hit your target weight you will do one of two things. Wither go back to your old bad habits as you haven't been learning how to feed yourself better, or the relationship you have with food may have changed and you might well keep it up. The advantage with this diet is that if you do see you weight creeping up again, you could always skip lunch at replace it with slimfast to stop it escalating out of control.
I mena if you got to your target weight and wanted to come off the slimfast, you need to work out how many calories you use a day and stick to eating that amount. You might find this easy after the strict fuss free regime of slimfast.
instead of spending a fortune on their god awful shakes make your own from unsweetened soya milk (chilled) and fruit, which ever you like. Blitz in a blender and have as a smoothy. Maybe not as convenient but it's as filling as their shakes and much healthier with about the same calories.
