Are these extended when the food is cooked?
What I mean is - if something (eg raw chicken) says use by 31st and it is cooked on the 30th, is it safe to eat in its new cooked form for a few days after the 31st?
Hope this makes sense!
Thanks

Hi shivvy, I understand what you mean, but I would advise that if it says use by the 31st and you cook it on the 30th, I would make sure it is eaten on the 30th. Some may say otherwise, or it could be cooked, then cooled quickly and frozen, but personally, I wouldn't.
i disagree with that, if i've cooked some ckicken and i have leftovers, as long as its cooled and stored properly, i reckon your ok for a couple of days, or if you then freeze it about a month. I'm always doing this and i'm still alive!
Once raw food is cooked - as long as it is stored properly in the fridge, it willkeep for another 2 days. It should be re-heated to 75deg+
