Runner Bean - mature beans

After enjoying a good season of young bean pods; I have a surplus of next year's bean seeds. Are they edible. Has anyone cooked and eaten them?

Sure, they're the same as you buy in the store as dried beans, Navy, Pinto, etc. Prepare in the same way...

Thank you Clanad, Since I posted the question I've cooked some (boiled) and although the water turned purple they tasted all right: something like butter beans. No ill effects so far. One point though they were quite a bulky food. I imagine that in quantity they would be quite filling. Tadpole
