a cabbage soup is A CALORIE CONTROLLED DIET but with the oddest and weirdest twist----- YOU CAN EAT LOADS OF CABBAGE SOUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will bet my house, my car and my left knacker that if you follow the cabbage soup diet BUT replace the cabbage soup with any healthy (i.e not creamy) soup you will lose the same amount of weight.

I had cabbage soup for my tea last night and for my lunch today. Just to let you know I feel fine but I have also had 12 tattie scones with butter and 8 pieces of bread with spread too to help me avoid passing out due to lack of calories. I can sense a return of the great cabbage fart panic of 86 coming on....
i just wanted to say that weight watchers do cans of soup in all different flavours for 1 or 2 points per can - they are really lovely! if you had them for your luch an tea and maybe a little cereal for you brekkie you would probably lose wight quickly! I just thought they may tase a little nicer! Or make your own just by blending tinned tomatos and some herbs!
Anyway good luck if you do it - let us know how much you lose!!!

I tried it years ago and I agree totally with what Bewlay Bros and Puss say - go for a homemade mixed veg soup instead. You'll know exactly whats in it cos you made it yourself.
There is no nutritional advantage to eating such a restricted diet as the cabbage soup diet.
The mix of veg will be much better and yet you will still lose weight.
There's no better way to lose weight than to eat the same as a thin person eats...do they only eat certain things? No they eat everything they want to - the key to their slimness is the size of their portions.....just reduce your portion sizes and increase your exercise and you'll soon lose weight.
I lost 3 1/2 stone that way.

Hey thanks for the answers :o )
Well I've been having tinned soup (low calorie) and salad for lunch now for about 3 weeks and haven't lost anything and breakfast eggs or porridge and tea veg hmmmm hence the drastic cabbage soup option!!!
Now are tomatoes a fruit or veg? I was always lead to believe they were a fruit...any ideas? As for baked beans yo uhaev to avoid high startch foods apparently so they would prob be out.
I might try the tinned weight watchers soup I was going to make my own veg and cabbage soup.
I might keep a 'blog' type post in this thread to let you all know how its going, it might motivate me to keep going! :o )
Anyone disapprove?
...And Sprayer I'll stock up on the old panties!
