If they are dried you will need to soak them overnight and make sure you cook them well. They can make you quite ill if you don't cook them properly.

Then check on google for some recipes or BBC Food website.
I rinse them from the can and eat them just like that or add them in salads.

The fresh ones, I soak overnight, wash and pressure cook them in a stew. However you prepare them, I find them to be delicious. Don't forget to wash them well to prevent that gassy bloated feeling.
Most people serve red kidney beans with chilli.
Green kidneys beans = slice and add to boiling salted water until tender eat as a veg with meat, potatoes carrots etc
I meant to say the dried ones that comes in a pack.

I've never seen green kidney beans. They are so small, why would you need to chop them? Are we talking about the same beans? lol
As others have said you can buy them in cans. You can use these for loads of things, we eat them all the time. Put them into spaghetti bolognaise, chilli, lasagne, even stir fry, but cook the contents of can in a saucepan first, then drain, same if you want them in a salad. There are loads of other types of beans all of which are really good for you. You can make your own baked beans with any type of beans. Just make a tomato sauce with, onion, chopped tomatoes and stock cube , then cook the beans in it. tastes lovely.

Good source of protein, roughage and minerals.

Loads of stiff about them here too: http://whfoods.org/genpage.php?tname=foodspice &dbid=87
Check other 'good for you' foods there too...

One simple suggestion - chuck into a blender with lemon juice, cumin, salt, pepper and chilli - whizz to a rough paste - instant sandwich filler.
If you buy them in cans[ which I do] make sure you rinse them well before cooking. I usually put mine[ the kidney beans] in a chill con carne.
I get tinned red kidney beans, and after rinsing in a colander, put in a bowl with sliced raw onion and tuna chunks and add some dressing. This is the Italian Tonno e fagioli dish and is a meal in itself.
