I enjoy hot food but have nothing to prove in a curry-laden macho world.
I therefore draw the line at say a mild madras.
However whilst in Iran I was subjected to a "family meal". We had some vergetable mush which looked quite colourful and, dare I say, rather appetizing.
However after one taste it literaly burnt my mouth. Not like a strong hot curry of chilli, but actually burnt it like fire.
Small children, no larger than say a Golden Retriever or a linen basket, munched the aformentioned curried veg with little or no aversion.
Horrible, absolutely horrible.

A chicken baggy in Belgium. Not because of taste but because of its revenge on me. Really rough but tour guide insisted I go on last day of tour and supplied me with lots of bags.
I will answer for Mr Rabbs, who is a little fussier on the food front than I but despite my warnings he thought cuttle fish stew was a good choice on one of our hols. He is wiser now.

I ate stick insects and cockroach a few years ago - both were deep fried.
The stick insect was coated in a caramel and didn't tase of anything really, it was like eating a bag of crisps. The cockroach was in order for me to win a bet, it was not good but at least I won the bet......silver lining and all that.
The weirdest thing I have eaten is chicken neck as myhusband ate chicken foot. We didn't realise what it was until we'd started eating it and promptly binned the offending articles. Needless to say, there was not much meat on any of them!

EUGH!! That would make me heave too!
A couple of years ago I was in Houston visiting my friend. He took me to a restaurant that had frogs legs on the menu and I'd never tried them before, so I gave them a go. It was up there with the cockroach and chicken neck I tell you. They were done in a curry and tasted really fishy.
I got back to my friends house and threw up and for the next 24 hours or so, I'd heave whenever I thought about even the smell of them.
