just been reading about environmentalists who want to do away with carrier bags and get people to use their own bags, if you done your shopping and then forgot your bags and the store wasnt giving them out what would you do, would you leave your shopping or use a box or maybe buy more of the stores own bags?

Maybe stores could provide those brown paper sacks that they use in America? They'd be a pain to carry but at least they could be recycled.
but if your doing a big shop, how easy is it going to be to lug your HUGE ikea bag full of food, and yoghurt, and milk and stuff like that?
I'd ask for a box.
Today it was very windy and you wouldn't believe the number of plastic bags clinging to the bare trees!!
Most of all I blame schoolkids who buy their lunches in the supermarkets then just drop their pol bags. I've seen them !!
in lidls and aldi you have to pack your shopping up into bags after youve paid so its quicker. so if you 4get your bags and youve got some in your car its ok. all shops should be like this, cut down on qs

I think thats a right pain in the arse myself. I've been there and you have to take your shopping away from the counter to pack, its ludicrous. It's quicker to pay but not to get oput of the shop.

I would buy more stores own bags to be honest.

I blame schoolkids?? What percentage of children buy their lunch straight from the supermarket?
