I used to drink raw eggs a lot for bodybulding a few years ago - they were cheap (I was on the dole), and required very little preparation time. However, I have read reports that avidin in the raw egg white may prevent the body absorbing biotin (a B-vitamin), also that the protein in the raw white may not be very assimilable. Then, of couse, there's the whole salmonella scare. However, when I was consuming them, I never had any problems - thy are absolutely disgusting though, and I never got used to the consistency and would sometimes gag them back up again! I don't think there's anything you'll get out of drinking raw eggs other than the protein and fat you could get from cooked eggs or other animal food sources.
I went through a phase of drinking a few raw, beaten eggs every week as a teenager, and I quite enjoyed them, but they certainly never helped me put on any weight. I always made sure that they were fully beaten, to become total smooth liquid, with no "ucky" bits remaining from the embryo. But I was told by a doctor that because they are a powerful binding agent, they have a tendency to cause consipation, so you shouldn't really take too many a week. Not quite sure how many "too many" is, though.. Maybe two or three a day at most for a healthy adult - and maybe less.
