Have tried the ridiculously cheap to the horrendously expensive. My recent one (v. expensive) was never properly non stick and has now started flaking. does anyone have a pan which has been going strong for a good few years and is still ok?

Mine's is a tefal; make with thermo spot. Had a few of them for a few years now with no problems. Just make sure and use plastic utensils with them as metal ones will scratch it quickly.
I use a Le Creuset, and it's brilliant. Must be fifteen years old now, has had quite a bit of use and still nothing sticks to it.
I'm with Styley on the Tefal Thermo Spot range. I only ever use plastic or wooden implements with mine and its been used weekly for over 2 years with no damage whatsoever. I never put it in the dishwasher though as that seems to loosen the non-stick stuff. They're not that expensive either, got mine from Tesco for about 6 i think.
Mine is a Le Crueset too and I like it.
It is only about a year old but it gets plenty of use and takes it well.
I also only use wooden utensils and hand wash it.
Anyone remember Miracle Maid pans? We had one for twenty years and used it daily.
A good quality, heavy stainless steel one is good as any non stick, and much better in my opinion. It would also out-last any non stick pot.
I agree with Tefal recommendations, mine actually has a lifetime guarantee which i think says it all!

We also have a le creuset but i find the non stick coating has started to bubble and blister, and I also find them very heavy, I can't hold the pan out straight with one hand!
Tefal is good. Le Creuset very good quality and you get a free mortgage with every pan cus they're so expensive.

Avoid IkEA cooking pots and pans. It's all 'made in Vietnam' type tat. my sis had a frying pan where the teflon came away from the metal. Probably made from scrap B52's found in the jungle.
