freezing burgers

If I freeze homemade burgers, do I cook them first or freeze them raw?
This is for both meat and veggie ones.

Best to freeze them raw in sealed bags, defrost them slowly in the fridge when needed and cook them when you want to eat them.

if you freeze them raw can you not then just cook them from frozen?
