I bought a fish tank for tropical fisk a week ago, and introduced fish into the tank yesterday, the water has gone a bit cloudy and smelly,there is also a light film on top of the water is there something wrong

Could you give us a few details on your tank....

Size, lighting, temperature, decor (gravel, rocks, wood etc), filteration etc.....and what fish you added.

Chances are, when a new tank goes cloudy, it's a bacterial bloom which is totally harmless and will clear in a few days.

Might be worth changing 50% of the water for some fresh, dechlorinated tap water.
