Hi All,
Hope someone can help me out here, I'm going to decorate 12 dozen cupcakes for a wedding, I want to put a disc of sugarpaste icing on top of each one, and then add some sugar flowers, will I be able to use edible glue to fix the sugarpaste to the cake, and then to add the flowers, or is there a better method, I have been told that I should use buttercream,to fix the icing onto the cake, but this would take up more time! Thanks in anticipation................M

How about apricot jam welsh?
I agree with welshlibranr that apricot jam would be a good idea. Just warm it up so more runny and brush on gently then the sugar paste disc will sit nicely. It works when marzipanning a cake. Just try it on a spare cake first. I made 100 cup cakes for my grandaughters 18th but I made thick glace icing and then my sugar flowers . they were much admired.

Thank you patsyann, I will try the warmed apricot jam, I'm sure it'll work fine.
