Prawns

I have just had some paella with prawns in which was from frozen which I stir fried, I noticed the prawns had black eggs in, well I presume that is what they are, should I have eaten them, as I have never had prawns with eggs? in before?

Sounds like the prawns still had the intestinal vein which runs down the centre of the spine. Won't do you any harm but it can make them taste a bit bitter.

Where were the eggs situated? You may be mistaking it for the poo line which runs along the back of the prawn.

this is gross i know but my nan used to give us prawns in shells to peel for her and the eggs were under the body by the legs. i cant remember if they were black though but i used to eat them (they tasted nice ok!!).unless your prawns had their shells still on then you would be eating the s**t, sorry!
