Yippee! I'm a rhubarb millionaire.
I was in Sainsbury's last night and spotted packs of rhubarb at 2.99 each. For that price I could take home 3 stalks. A kilo of rhubarb could have been mine for 4.97!
Why bother? My garden is coming down with the stuff. It grows itself.
Why so expensive? Ah yes! There's a worldwide shortage.Rhubarb gardens all over the place have been converted to the growing of biofuel crops. Or is it wheat? Or rice? Or the strawberries for Crunchy Breakfast Mix?
Off now to mail my phone number to Sainsbury's purchasing department.
