I really like Weight Watchers. If you go to their website you can get the basic info on how to do it - particularly from the message boards - without spending any money. I did buy an 'at home' pack though which was about 60 and had a lot of useful resources, and also the calculator for working out the points values of foods which is really handy. It does involve a bit of planning and weighing etc but then I think most diets do, and once you get the hang of counting points it becomes second nature. It doesn't eliminate any foods - none of this Atkins nonsense - and is quite flexible to accomodate stuff like holidays etc. It's slow and steady weight loss, I lost a stone in three months, and hope to go on to lose another.
