Emmerdale

Sorry I've been away from this site for weeks because of a deadline, and I have tried to look through to see if anyone else has mentioned this but I can't see anything. Who else thinks that Emmerdale have hideously over-egged the pudding with this mixed up babies at birth thing?
I was looking forward to seeing how they handled Ashley and Laurel coming to terms with losing their baby as a cot death and instead they seem to have abandoned poor little Daniel altogether. Ashley is now a greedy monster who doesn't care who he hurts to get his 'genes' under his roof and Laurel looks as if it's next stop the psychiatric ward
In fact I now video the programme and fast forward through the baby story as much as possible. I gave up watching EastEnders because it got so depressing and this is going the same way. What's more I can't even find it a particularly believable story. I mean, ho-ho let's have a cot death but then let's have one of those 'got-mixed-up-at-birth' stories to complicate it so we can have weeks and weeks of suffering, lots of hate and bitterness, in fact a real wallow in misery - but don't let's worry too much about credibility!
Far more interesting, I find, is what is happening to Andy Sugden since he came out of prison. He's getting seriously scary!

I realise how Laurel must be feeling but I'm sure if it was me I would be thinking how I'd actually carried Arthur inside me for 9 months and I think I would just have to try, even though I was grieving the other baby.
Yes, Greg thought he was Arthur's father but it turns out he wasn't, instead he was Daniel's father, who was called Daniel because Ashley thought he was his father, only it's turned out that he wasn't at all he was Arthur's father, and .... Oh bl**dy hell, it's all so complicated. Just makes the story even more absurd, and yes, pips 1, why haven't they sued the pants of the hospital? No one even seems to have said sorry, never mind about paying for their mistake.
And now baby Arthur (or whatever he ought to be called) won't eat unless his mother, who isn't his mother, gives him his food whilst his parents - who didn't know until a couple of weeks ago that they were his parents - sit by looking uncomfortable ... Oh grrr! Emmerdale, this is a rubbish story, PLEASE do better next time!

All I can tell you about the Viv thing is that Deena Payne is due to take a year out of the show, which makes me think they're going to cover that by having poor Viv sent to prison for a year. I hope, however, that if they do they clear all this business up. It appeared in the beginning that she was severely wronged by a crook who callously swindled her, but if that is the case what about these supposed sightings of her at the crook's home?
Actually I'm rather enjoying it. She's a class one pain in the butt, Viv is, but with Bob and the twins and so on they've got to come up with some decent solution I should have thought.
