My midwives told me to (a) avoid all sugar, even sweet peppers and baby carrots (b) drink atleast 2-3 liters of water a day (c) stay away from caffeine. Also what mrs cheeks said about avoiding stuff with yeast/fungi in it. check this out for a little sumfn http://www.sheilas.com/candida.html

I have been battling candia a while now on Nystatin(an antifungal no side affects can take I think while pregnant, but ask your doctor), lots of water good idea, but not tap water bottled unless you have a good filter. A good Probiotic (capules that contain Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus acicophilus-the good guys your supposed to maintain a higher level of so the yeast doesn't grow out of control it the intestine which is linked to vaginal yeast. Jarrow is a good brand you can obtain even online-try The Vitamin Shoppe.com. I used Ultra Flora Plus but I can only get thru my doctor at Metagenics. A good guide is "The Yeast Connection" and "The Yeast Connection Cookbook" by William G.Crook MD-easily found on Amazon.com
Eating healthy is a must...and even more so is getting all the sugar out of the diet I don't eat even brown rice products or beans until I am feeling better and then in moderation. My best results have been while eating only green salad and grilled chicken or unbreaded fish using only oil and salt as dressing almost any veggie,(no starchy ones like potatoes), I eat yeast free breads, and use stevia as sweetner for everything beverages and food alike- comes in liquid or powdered form in your health food store. But do check with your physician since you are pregnant to make sure you are getting all your nutrition needs still met. Canned or prepackaged foods are a no-no & MSG bad. I don't eat fruit for three weeks and if feeling better.. only small amounts as natural fructose can even cause me to start itching. Best Wishes with a healthy recovery and Congradulations on Your new arrival.
