Has anyone got a recipe for Wet Nell? My partner goes on about it but, apart from there being bread in it, seems to have no idea what else is needed! He's a Forest of Dean man and I don't know if it's specific to this part of the world. I wonder why it's so called......

Would this be a type of Summer or Bread Pudding Gloucestershire-style, do you think?

don't think so - think it's like it sounds; wet and stodgy!
Bread Pudding is very wet and very stodgy - and has all sorts of weird local names. Sadly, Google doesn't throw up any Glos puds with this name. Any chance of another ingredient?
Found it! I tried 'Wet Nelly' and there it was. Here's the recipe: http://www.pcl-eu.de/service/taste/text.php?id=9

Thank you! Now I shall have to make it! It certainly sounds stodgy - should keep the wolf from the door.
