cooked onions

i can buy cooked mushrooms, carrots, potatoes etc etc but cannot find anywhere to buy cooked onions--neither tinned/canned nor frozen--anyone know where i can get these--i'm in uk--thanks in advance

I'd buy the cooked ones in the jar but they are so moreish that they rarely reach the dish -go with Whiffy --he really does know what he's speaking about..
That brought back memories for me when that was a treat buying a jar of fried onions and wolfing them -kids hated onions but loved them -thanks for that wee trip down memory lane :)

If you really can't be bothered to chop and fry onions with all the oill spitting over the cooker, here is the ultimately effort-free curry:
Pour a jar of Pataks Vindaloo Sauce into a saucepan.
Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and heat to simmering.
Add several large handfuls of dried fried onion (see question)
Chopped chillies to taste (you can get these dried as well)
About 5 minutes before serving, add 2 boxes of Lidl frozen King Prawns.
The result is a fantastic curry, the effort involved practically zero, 3 portions to freeze down, and just one saucepan to wash up.
