Not really for me would guess it, havent heard of one using suet, isnt it stodgy?
6 Thick slices stale bread
6 oz Mixed dried fruit
6 oz Suet
3 oz Demerara sugar
1 tspn Ground mixed spice
1 egg
Cut the crusts from the bread and soak in a bowl of water.
Squeeze bread to remove as much water as possible. Put the bread in bowl and beat with a fork.
Add the suet, egg, mixed fruit, sugar and spice and mix thoroughly.
Put in a tin or similar and bake at 180C or 350F Gas 4 for about an hour.

Bit stodgy I would have thought with suet though I remember my Mum used to put suet in bread pud.

You could also try this one which is a Delia recipe that I have used loads of times .It's lovely .
225g (8oz) Stale Bread
110g (4oz) Currants, Raisins or Sultanas(or mixed fruit)
50g (2oz) Brown Sugar
50g (2oz) Melted Butter
 tsp Mixed Spice
1 Egg
Milk .
Grated zest of an orange
Same method , bung it all altogether and cook .Dredge it with icing sugar when it's cold .

Oh I love bread pudding. My recipe was my mums and it includeds suet. I wouldnt make it any other way. And it is lovely!!!!!!!
Here's another version - uses less suet, 6oz seems a lot
8 oz day old bread with crusts cut off
8 fl oz milk
8 oz dried fruit
2 oz suet
2 oz caster sugar
2 tsp mixed spice
1 beaten egg
Tear up bread and soak in the milk for 30 minutes. Mix well either with a fork until all the lumps have gone or in a mixer. Add all other ingredients, mix well and put into a greased tin. Bake at 180C for approx 1 hour. Turn out of tin and dust with caster sugar when cool. Enjoy!
Although I use suet I alwas use low fat suet that veggies can eat.
4 slices of toasted bread, cut into four strips each.
1 egg
Half pint milk
raisons & sultanas (RS)
sugar

1st layer of toast in bottom of dish sprinkle RS & dessert spoon sugar. Continue till all in.

Whisk egg with half cup of cold milk. Boil rest of milk and add to whisked stirring, (stops curdling). Put dish in oven (Gas 5, 20 mins) to bake. VERY FATTENING, so dont eat all yourself!" I dont like spice!
That recipe is a bread and butter pudding not bread pud ding.
