Whats the name of this starter they sometimes serve in resturants,

Its a sort of tomato sauce or filling served on a thick crispy bread, I had this once while on holiday in spain and it was beautiful.

Could it be taramasalata, "a pinkish pate made from roe of mullet or other fish"

it was a veggie dish with no fish in it. it was made with tomatoes and some kinds of herbs
