how do i make puri, it's a sort of cross between a popadom and a crepe

Make a fine dough of wheat,water & salt (as per taste). Roll the dough with a roller on a flat surface (apply dry wheat flour on it to get rid of the stickiness of the dough) into small circular shapes and fry 'em in oil till they r brown in colour.
