Batchelor's and Campbell's have long been the same firm anyway. (They're both part of Premier Foods, which also includes Hovis, Branston, Mr Kipling, Cadbury's, Crosse & Blackwell, Lyons and many other well-known brands).
It seems that the Campbell's name is being dropped in favour of Batchelor's, but I'm sure that the residents of King's Lynn (where you can smell which variety they're currently making at the factory) will continue to refer to the Campbell's factory for many years to come.
You've reminded me of a pub I used to work in. The menu always offered 'home made soup of the day'. Customers would frequently ask me what the soup of the day was. I'd always say "I'll just go and check with the chef" even though I knew that it was always tomato. Once I'd been given an order for the 'home made' soup, I'd take it to the kitchen, where a can of Campbell's would be opened and a dollop of cream added ;-)
