Same fish tasting differently???
1 Answers
Please can anyone help? Have you ever eaten white fish eg. haddock/hake where sometimes it tastes perfect and other times it tastes too strong as if it's off, even though you know it isn't. Someone told me that a male & female fish taste different. Is this true??? Thanks in advance for any input.

Unfortunately, when buying filleted haddock, hake or cod off the slab you cannot prod the skin to see if it`s firm, inspect the gills under their covers to see if they`re pink or red, or see the eyes, which should be clear & bright. You pays your money & takes your chance with filleted. Try to buy fresh whole ones & learn how to fillet them yourself. Don`t be shy to ask for sniff!
