christmas pudding recipe - can i cook it in slow cooker??

Does anyone have a tried and tested recipe and does anyone cook theirs in the slow cooker? thanks so much

Tower Slo Cook Book gives a recipe for Christmas pudding - to reheat, preheat slo-cooker on high for 20 minutes. Place pudding in its basin, cover with foil, and stand inside slo-cooker. Pour round sufficient boiling water to come halfway up the sides and heat for about 6 hours on low, or 4 hours on high. Perhaps this method could be used with a commercially bought pudding.
