Does it matter what oil I use on my Roast?

Groundnut oil, olive oil, corn oil - will the use of a specific oil change the taste of the roast dinner?

I wouldn't use olive oil as it burns easily and coz of the flavour. veg/corn/sunflower are fine.
what you roasting?
Why do people put oil on there roasts doesnt need it,just a tad of water at the bottom of the roasting tray, and seasoning if liked!!!
Puddicat...Rubbing oil on pork or duck will give the crispy finish that some people want.
a bit of oil on roast spuds makes them lovely and tasty i use the extra virgin stuff
I use goose fat - esp delicious on roast potatoes....
I use coconut oil, give the spuds a lovely flavour.
Heathefield yep agree on pork and rock salt does give pork a nice crackling, but meat produces its own fat and doesnt need xtra!!!
