Cost of Post and Packing??

I have just ordered some veggie black pudding,parma ham,and kipper fillets,the cost of the food was only �8 thought thats not bad for quality stuff,when i went to pay the posting cost was �7.10p how can they justify that price???

im guessing it will b packed for freshness ie polystrene box/ice packs.......and i would of thought it wud go 'next day' delivery.

i wonder if u had spent another 30 quid say, if the postage would have been more.....or less.

sometimes its worth spending a little extra to get free postage.

didnt notice,i dont think so, but if i was ordering a hamper it was �10 only 2.90 difference,i betcha it will come in a jiffy bag lol!!!
Yes, it has to be packed very well indeed to meet not only the food hygiene requirements but the carriers requirements as well. They don't want their parcels smelling of kippers.

And it will have to be sent 'next day' delivery as the food could very easily go off if left in a warm place too long.

Usually the more you spend the smaller the percentage cost of delivery.
Postage is very expensive these days!
Packing is very expensive these days, not only postage. You'd be surprised at the cost of a small box, particularly as a one-off.

dzug agree, but most companies have business postage rates cheaper than what we pay!!!
