complaining about a public house
Does anyone know where I should make a complaint about an irresponsible pub near us that churns out hundreds of drunks on to the street at 3am?
I've got nowhere speaking to the police and I'm on with the local MP at the moment, but who is it nowadays that actually gives a pub a licence? There must surely be a mechanism for making a formal complaint.

If the pub is not licensed to sell alcohol until 2.30am (+ half an hour drinking up time) you may be able to report them and hopefully get them to stick to the terms of their license. The Police would know what time the pub is licensed until, and the fact they have so far been uninterested may indicate the pub is legally open late. Still worth checking though.
Thanks for the replies. I'm sure the pub is licenced but my view is they're selling alcohol to people that are already drunk which surely is illegal, although the police are not interested.
I had thought of Environmental Health but the noise, vandalism and nuisance is only coming from the drunks once they have left the pub.
Also I can't seem to find a link from Council's website to Licensing department. is it definitely part of local council?
