What does a camden tablet actually do to the wine ?

It kills bacteria and "Wild" yeast, also by adding before the fermentation is complete it can be used to adjust the amount of sugar converted to alcohol varying the sweetness of the wine.

hi John. What wine do you mean? , hahaha.
We've got 4 white and 4 red wines on the go. + a big bucket of crab apple brewing.!!! oh dear.
I've just left him to bottle some, etc, while I'm slowly cooking the dinner + running upstairs to wrap more pressies.
You think were alcoholics? no ---

Brings back happy (but a bit blurred) memories that does pusskin ! I only EVER made 5 gallons at a time,as it's less trouble than 1 galls (Then transferred it to demijohns) I had to give it up a couple of years ago as the doc said a litre a day was not good for you...Still, I hope you enjoy it !!! (I'm sure I would.....

like johntywino I used to brew in 5gall batches but the family seemed to have a secret warning system about when the wine was ready and I'd come home and find I was lucky to have a �doz bottles left, so now I just make small batches, still I suppose having all that alcohol about was bad for us.Anyway good look with the wine and have a good (but not to drunken) christmas.

Its also a very effective water treatment for removing cholrine and cholomines from tap water. Half a tablet will treat 5 gallons.

i think we've gone a bit mad with wine. We havent made any for 21 yrs, and we feel like kids again. (joking)
I hope the kids & family can help us out and drink most of it, or it will still be here for next xmas . (hmm)
Cant wait for it to go and try and make rice and sultana wine . Now -- thats a terrific taste !!!
