Any ideas on dinner party games (not purchased ones - just verbal games you play during the evening or over the cheese / port)

We don't play games at dinner parties, but one that could be played over the cheese and port would be where you stick a post-it note with the name of a famous person on everyone's forehead, and they have to guess who they are meant to be by asking questions of the other guests. I don't know what it's called - but I hope that makes sense.
One that has seemed to be quite popular on some forums I visit on the internet is 'In My Pants' basically you think of a film title and add 'in my pants onto the end of the title : ie Finding Nemo in my pants - this can go on for as long as you want it to with some very funny combinations, it is also suitable for all ages. Hope this is the sort of thing you were looking for:)
naomi, was just going to suggest the very same thing. we do it so that the person on your right thinks up the person/cartoon character/whatever and sticks it on your head, and you do it to the person on your left. doesn't leave one person having to do all the thinking/sticking. sounds really complicated the way i've tried to explain it, but it's not, and it's a good game especially after a few drinks.
cheers all for the suggestions....
johntywino - did suggest this but got a slap from my wife (have to mention it more often then ;) )
naomi - hiya - don't come on so much any more - got bored with the news section and have never really been into chatterbank. Gone back in a bit recently since the credit crunch has started to have different discussions to the muslim / immigration debates.
Unfortunately they came round early, so couldn't read this thread until now, but think I will definitely use the famous people suggestion in January.

I know what you mean, Vic. I don't bother with news much now, and have never have been into Chatterbank. I stay at home in R&S mostly. Enough arguments there to be going on with!
Remember the old joke about throwing all the keys into a bowl? The unlucky one gets the AA Box!
Ethandron, I may give the famous people game a go sometime. As you say, after a few drinks it could be fun - and by the time we get to the port, we've always had a few drinks! Hic!

Hmm mr thug and I often get to remote places without any lights in the evenings. We have a few games we play which may be of interest.
Oh do behave ABers!
A favourite is the fantasy dinner party. You are allowed 1 musician, 1 politician, 1 writer, 1 artist etc. Take it in turns to choose. It can be very revealing.
Another favourite which is a little darker goes like this. You have 1 bullet. Who would you choose to eradicate? And why?

lol - we used to play a game on work nights out called "marry, f*ck, push off a cliff" - you would have to choose 3 partners (who were in the group) - and decide which ones you would want to marry, which one you would have an affair with, and which one you would kill.
Probably not suitable for a dinner party though ;-)
