breeding sub tropical fresh water fish

Hello, I am looking into breeding some sub-
tropical fresh water fish of the algie feeding ones. so
I just need to try and find out the bare basics to see if it
is worth the effort. I have seen adverts for breeding traps and breeding tanks etc. I suspect it would be easier to go and buy some but now I am intrigued by the notion of breeding it self.
