Why don't you devote your time to a worthy human charity instead?
Things are the same in all intensive farming ..
the Uk is better on animal welfare than the
rest of the world ..but if you want cheap food
the animals are the ones that suffer ...buy cheap
clothes ..made in sweat shops by children ...
nothing is cheap ...and bogof nothing is free .
I worked in a butchers for a bit and read the las regarding farming in this country and the conditions animals must be kept in to be imported. For example you couldn't buy the french veal that has been kept at their minimum farming standards, it is considered too cruel to be imported. All meat sold in this country is slaughtered humanely and artificial growth inducing hormones/chemicals are not allowed.
But if you are worried read the laws or pay more for your meat, I buy all mine from the local butcher, better meat, better taste and better life. Or go veggie, but don't believe the overly zealous propaganda.
