Glace cherries in cake

Can anyone give me a way of stopping clace cherries from sinking to the bottom when making a cake.
I've tried all the obvious ways like rinsing and drying them either whole or cut into quarters and dredging in flour but I still end up with them all at the bottom of the cake.
Very frustating so perhaps someone will have an answer.

Hi Mctavish, you're doing everything right, so I haven't a clue?
May be try adding an extra tablespoon of flour to add to the density of the mixture?

Your cherries are alien then! ;0)
Oven temperature right when you put it in? No problems with your oven?

Think you might be right about "alien" cherries.
Everything OK otherwise cake perfect apart from layer of cherries at thje bottom.
Not to worry - I give up !!
Thanks for taking trouble to answer..
Wash them with fairly hot water and dry them . I've never had any problems.
