Hiya Foodies, i was in spain last year, and was served up a really simple dish, it was like baked beans (but not, they were kind of white in colour, with a tomato sauce) served with Chorizo.

Does any one know what this could have been? im craving it!!

I had this in a local tapas restaurant and it was gorgeous. I think they said it was a Spanish Peasant Stew. I will definitely be trying this as well.

Hi! I'm from Barcelona. This is called "Alubias con Chorizo". Alubias are the small white beans. Here's how to make it:
Put beans, water, a couple of tablespoons olive oil, half a cup of tomato pure, a peeled onion, chorizo (or you can also use a black pudding) and salt in a saucepan and simmer on a low heat for a couple of hours. Hope you enjoy it!

Sask'Ich; can you give us the amount of beans, chorizo etc please? It sounds like what I need to use up some fresh chorizo I bought and put into the freezer as I didn't know what to do with it!
about the equivalent of 3 cups beans, 1 cup tomato pur, 2 tbsps olive oil, small pinch salt (chorizo is salty). To make sure it doesn't get too salty put the corizo in halfway through the cooking.
sorry - forgot to say about 4 or 5" of chorizo cut into slices or diced in biggish pieces.
Thank you Sask'Ich and thank you bantingm for presenting me to a new dish.
You're welcome.I'm half English half Italian but live in Spain. Although I own an electronics company I love cooking so feel free to ask for any Spanish or Italian dishes you might have tried and want to make yourselves.
Coccinelle: Another idea for the chorizo is to cut it lengthways, dip in beaten egg and breadcrumbs and fry. Delicious with fried egg. Or if you slice it into small pieces and do the same, it's great as a party starter. Also tasty is to slice potatoes in a pan and cover with water. Boil for about 5 mins then add sliced chorizo on top and then chick peas. While it's simmering add black pepper. You'll know it's done when the potatoes and chick peas are soft enough. Hope I've given you some ideas for your frozen chorizo!!!!
Thanks again Sask'Ich they sound yummy.
