I don't keep mine in the fridge. I heard years ago, probably at school you should always cook eggs from room temp, don't know what difference it makes though. It's now just habit.
I heard the same as miss skippy. I keep mine in one of those hen shaped containers out of the fridge and sometimes cook them well past the date (!) with no problem whatsoever.
no, have never kept eggs in the fridge, keep them on an egg rack in the kitchen. they're all nicely sealed up in the shell and keep for just as long. i regularly use eggs a good few weeks old too, and have never had a bad one.
I have wondered this many times when i put the eggs i have just bought "off the shelf" in sainsburys in the fridge at home.The conclusion i have come to is that, as i have a small kitchen i don`t want them cluttering up the worktop, nothing to do with if they keep better or not lol
I keep mine in the fridge becasue they are out of the way in there! also why does every fridge I know (not personally!) have a special compartment with 'holes for eggs' - usually in the door , if there was a scientific or cullinary reason for them not to bestored in there?
