thanks its for my kids is it still ok me and hubby arguing over it he says it fine
it should be fine as long you re heat it hot enough. make sure its extra pipping hot.
as long as when it had been cooked you put it in the fridge as soon as it had cooled down & has stayed there you can finish it tonight
Food goes "off" when it gets infected by bacteria. Now assume you cooked the spag bol, it was piping hot as they say, you allowed it to cool covered (I hope), then you put it in the fridge. What on earth could happen to it, covered, at 4-6C to make it a risk?

Unless you have left it uncovered at room temperature overnight then it will be fine.

The ultimate question is: What can have gone wrong with this food, and how and why?
By that definition Gormless it will last for a thousand years in a Fridge then?

It will have bacteria in it somewhere, cold tempratures slow the development of bacteria to a minimum but not completely therefore given enough time there will be enough bacteria to make it unadvisable to eat.

Having said that.... it should be fine for 3-4 days.
Theoretical case: You cook a bolognaise sauce, in a casserole dish with a well-fitting lid, 2 hours in the oven, mark 6. At the end of that time there is not the hint of a bug anywhere. How long will that sauce last, covered, in the oven?

When it does eventually go off, how has it happened? How did the bugs get in? Crawl up the side?
