Whilst at a local market yesterday, I saw on a veg stall someone selling the vegetable called Sampher. I have never seen it nor heard of it before. Does anyone know what its flavour is & how it is cooked? I live in Lincolnshire & believe it is a local produce. The lady on the stall was busy with customers or I would have asked her.

I've had it just boiled as a veg with fish...I think its classed as a grass its grown by the sea....
In France it's called salicorne and we pickle it; there's loads of it in Vende.
