I was given a marrow last week (that was actually funny - two guests turned up for dinner and the wife presented me with a large marrow and a smaller courgette saying "one for the kitchen and one for the bedroom". Her husband followed her in saying "most people say it with flowers, my wife says it with phallic shaped veg" - I have some great friends!).
Anyway, the point is, what the hell do I do with it? (I mean to cook it and eat it for the avoidance of doubt). I have very little in the fridge - a few carrots, spring onions, peppers, some bacon and some cheese and not much else and I can't be bothered to go to the shop.
No seriously, I DO want to know how I should cook it. My mum used to do stuffed marrow (which was foul). If I don't cook it, it will be wasted cos I am going on holiday on Tuesday!
I suppose I could take it with me. Although most people take a camera and a bikini.
when my ex hubby was about 17 he had to go to A&E for stitches and a tetanus jab.
the nurse told him to drop his trousers for the jab, and there he stood in his pants with "prize marrow" written across the front. the nurse laughed a lot. possibly too much!
