Blackberries

Are they early this year....just picked a monster bowl full but it doesn't seem right to be eating blackberry and apple crumble in August !!!!!

Yes, the blackberries seem to be ready in some sunny places here in West Wales, but other places they are still small, hard and green!
Don't worry about it, just enjoy!
Trouble is, the apples aren't ready yet.

Hi been picking them here in the midlands for about 3 weeks now - very early.
Try making them into sorbet it is delicious and more summery.
about 1lb blackberries blitzed in liquidiser then sieved - add the juice to some sugar syrup -freeze and stir every hour or so or put in icecream maker. You could also add a stiffly beaten egg white if you like your sorbet fluffy - there are loads of recipes on google :-)
