Anyone got an idea how to make tortilla chips like the ones that are available in the UK from Kettle Tortilla chips from Kettle foods (the same company as make Kettle Chips).

I want to make them, but they taste too salty for my liking.  So, I want to see if I can do better.

Get some tortilla flour wraps, chop them up and shallow fry them.  Add salt / pepper / spices to your taste.

Tried doing exactly what you've suggested.  It doesn't taste anything like Kettle tortilla chips (or for that manner any other bagged tortilla chips).

I think for the recipe I would need to use some kind of ground corn as flour, make them quite thick, and find a way preferably to bake them, or alternatively fry.  Can't find a recipe for preparing your own tortillas for producing chips, only for using as wraps for fillings in mexican cuisine - but made with wheat flour I'd think these were too much like bread, than a snack.
