Lieu days
my company has recentley introduced a policy of giving lieu days instead of overtime payments, no contract changes have been made although it does state that lieu days can be given at the managers discretion, i woud like to know 2 things, firstly is this legal? and secondly, how much notice do i have to give if i want to take one of my lieu days, the holiday policy is 2 weeks notice but does this count for lieu days also?

Q2: Impossible to answer because it is up to the company to determine this and let you know. Many companies operate a 'day for a day' on holiday (i.e. 5 days notice for wanting a week's holiday) but yours is obviously fairly fussy about wanting to know well in advance. It would seem probable that they would want to apply the same 'rules' to lieu days as to holiday.
