Why are you not meant to thaw chicken in hot water?

Iv'e just dethawed chicken sausages which Ive done before before transferring to the oven with onions and oil and have just found out this shouldn't be done, Any reason for this?

But zacs, Surely when you have cooked beyond the temperature of100 degrees all bacteria then die?

I've cooked my chicken sausages still frozen in the oven lots of times ... still alive....I think provided they are cook through its not a problem...
